Import Delivery Standards

Full Container Delivery:

• To align with port free time, we will deliver fully cleared containers if we receive the cartage advise and necessary documentation before the vessel arrives.

• Clients are responsible for monitoring MPI, Line, or Custom statuses, as well as any other holds. GK Logistics cannot be held liable for the clearing of these holds.

• For containers that require empty dehire before full delivery, our standard dehire notice period of two working days remains in effect.

• In cases where documentation arrives after vessel entry, delivery will be scheduled for the next available shift with viable VBS slots.

• If a specific delivery date is needed, please submit documentation for a cleared container visible on Port Connect along with delivery instructions three working days in advance. We will strive to meet your requested date, subject to current Port limitations.

• Morning delivery requests necessitate that the receiving site be open by 7 a.m. at the latest to avoid potential waiting time charges.

• Detailed delivery instructions must accompany all paperwork to secure a VBS. In the absence of formal instructions, the VBS cannot be guaranteed.

• Failure to provide delivery instructions in writing means the container is not yet ready for delivery. Telephone contact numbers are insufficient as delivery instructions.

• Delivery sites sent to us are presumed to be accessible for a 40ft swing lift. If there are any concerns, kindly communicate them to us for a potential site inspection.

• GK Logistics assumes no responsibility for demurrage charges related to import containers, arising from limited uplift timeframes or insufficient notice from the client.

Empty Container Dehire:

• The dehire notice period of two working days applies for empties requiring dehire before the next container delivery. Please coordinate with our office in advance.

• Our policy is to complete dehires within two working days, excluding the day of email notification.

• Containers without a confirmed dehire depot will not be deemed ‘ready to dehire’.

• Notifications received after 3 p.m. are considered for the next working day.

• The dehire notice period of two working days still applies if an empty container needs dehire before a full container delivery.

Hazardous Containers:

• Containers containing hazardous materials are not ready for delivery until we have received the appropriate documentation.

• GK Logistics accepts no liability for demurrage costs related to hazardous containers due to the restricted timeframe available for uplift from the Port.

By adhering to these guidelines, we aim to offer a streamlined and efficient import delivery service, minimizing any possible disruptions to your supply chain. Thank you for your cooperation.
